(JUN 30, 2016) – An especially chic residential development is coming to Miami, created in an unprecedented partnership with Karl Lagerfeld, head designer and creative director of luxury labels Fendi and Chanel.

The 82-year-old, world-renowned fashion icon—whose first hotel venture is slated to open in 2017—has been tapped to design the lobbies of The Estates at Acqualina, a 50-story complex poised to rise along Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, slated to break ground later this year. Developed by Jules and Eddie Trump of The Trump Group (an investment firm unaffiliated with The Donald), the $1.5 billion project—planned to be completed in 2020—will house 265 luxury residences spanning two boutique skyscrapers conceived by CFE Architects.

“Eddie and I wanted our entrance lobbies to be the pièce de résistance of our new project, and who better to create these than the master of modern creativity, Karl Lagerfeld?” Jules Trump said. “Karl is the world’s most acclaimed designer, and we believe his high-end designs will be greatly valued by our residents, who desire an incomparable level of opulence. This is his first design project in the United States, and we are honored that he chose the Estates as his first partner.”

Set to be outfitted with custom furnishings created by the virtuoso himself, the lobbies will wholly reflect his unparalleled style and keen eye for detail.

“I am excited by the opportunity and take great pride in knowing that the spaces I create will be such important spaces in the building,” Lagerfeld said. “The lobby is very important because this is where people can socialize. It’s like a common living room—the first impression you get when you come to visit people.” He notes his designs were particularly inspired by the Sunshine State: “The climate in Florida is very warm, and I wanted something fresh.”

Ranging from three to seven bedrooms and 3,200 to 13,000 square feet, the furniture-ready condominiums—now on the market—are priced between $3.9 million and $9 million, with the exception of the three $40 million two-story penthouses.

While 777 Via Acqualina will contain 92 half- and full-floor spreads (including a tower suite and one of the penthouse estates), 888 Via Acqualina will offer 173 residences—among them two two-story penthouses, two tower suites, and two two-story, single-family dwellings—with a max of four units per floor.

All of the homes will be outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances, imported stone countertops, and smart-home technology—not to mention master suites with commodious his-and-hers dressing rooms, and marble baths, each equipped with a freestanding tub, a steam mist shower, and an ocean-view shower.

The sumptuous suites will be complemented by a slew of five-star offerings, including a full-time concierge, 24-hour valet, daily housekeeping, in-room dining, children’s programming, laundry and dry cleaning services, child and pet care—and a house Rolls-Royce available at beck and call.

“The amenities at The Estates at Acqualina are unprecedented,” Trump asserted. “They are not found anywhere else in the world.”

Apart from having full access to the neighboring AAA Five Diamond Acqualina Resort & Spa—home to two fine-dining restaurants, Il Mulino NY and AQ by Acqualina—residents will enjoy exclusive entry to Villa Acqualina: a 45,000-square-foot, three-story amenities complex replete with every fathomable offering.

The three-story building will consist of a world-class spa and fitness center, a fine-dining restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Circus Maximus, and an assortment of entertainment and leisure spaces, from a Wall Street Trader’s Club (with ticker tape, computers, and a boardroom) and a Formula 1 simulator to a skating rink and a bowling alley.

Spanning 5.6 acres, The Estates’ grounds—bordered by 502 feet of oceanfront—will showcase several landscaped gardens, numerous infinity pools, a dog park, basketball and bocce courts, a soccer field, a FlowRider surf simulator, and a beachside eatery.

The Trump brothers already have a number of South Florida luxury developments under their belts including Williams Island—an Aventura complex comprised of eight high-rise buildings and a Mediterranean village—and The Mansions at Acqualina, which sold out soon after debuting last fall. But they’re confident their latest undertaking will be the best one yet. As Jules enthused: “Simply put, The Estates at Acqualina will be the world’s finest residences.”
